    Sixteen researchers and business students have been selected to help transform medical and scientific research findings into start-up companies that create local jobs.  The Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron has teamed with the University of Akron College of Business Administration to offer the Women’s Entrepreneurship Program.  The selected participants will take free classes at the College of Business Administration and receive hands-on help from local and national experts in transforming research findings into commercial opportunities…

  • Inaugural Class of Women’s Entrepreneurship Program Announced [ABIA News Release] The Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron (ABIA), in concert with The University of Akron College of Business Administration, The University of Akron School of Law and the University of Akron Research Foundation (UARF), today announced the inaugural members of its first ever Women’s Entrepreneurship Program, a collaborative effort to increase the number of woman entrepreneurs and expedite commercialization of technology projects in Northeast Ohio.
  • ABIA and U of Akron to launch program for woman entrepreneursThe Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron and the University of Akron are planning to launch in January a semester-long educational program aimed at women entrepreneurs.  In addition to an entrepreneurial curriculum, the program will provide participants with access to experts, coaching by successful entrepreneurs, contact with cutting-edge technology and support in forming companies and licensing ideas, according to a statement from the Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron (ABIA).
  • Innovative Entrepreneurship Program Launched by Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron and The University of Akron [ABIA News Release]In an effort to increase the number of woman entrepreneurs and expedite commercialization of technology projects in Northeast Ohio, leaders at the Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron (ABIA) and The University of Akron (UA) College of Business Administration announce the launch of a new Women’s Entrepreneurship Program.  The program, which will start in January,  will not only provide participants with an entrepreneurial-based curriculum but further aid success by providing access to experts, coaching by successful entrepreneurs, contact with cutting-edge technology and support in forming companies and licensing ideas.
