Schedule

7:45 – 9:00 a.m.      Student Check In and Project Setup (NIHF STEM, Level 1)
8:00 – 12:30 p.m.    Hands on Demonstrations/Informational Booths (Gym)
9:00 – 11:00 a.m.    The University of Akron Information Session followed by Campus Walking Tour (NIHF STEM, Level 3)
9:30 – 12:30 p.m.    Judging of Projects (NIHF STEM, Level 1)
9:30 – 12:30 p.m.    Teacher Workshops (NIHF STEM, Level 3)
                                    To Run Simultaneously with BEST Medicine Student Judging
12:30 – 1:30 p.m.    Lunch (UA’s Quaker Station)
1:30 – 2:00 p.m.      Keynote Presentation (UA’s Quaker Station)
2:00 – 3:00 p.m.      Award Ceremony (UA’s Quaker Station)
4:00 – 5:00 p.m.      Removal of Projects
Students may remove their projects after BEST Medicine Officials announce that judging is complete.

Activities for Parents during Judging

9:00 – 11:00 a.m.    The University of Akron Information Session followed by Campus Walking Tour (NIHF STEM, Level 3)

We will have two available entries to the building:

  • The front (west) entrance at 199 Broadway
  • The back (east) entrance (facing the railroad tracks) which you can access by the Quaker Square Entrance on Broadway

Parking
FREE Parking is available in the Morley Health Parking Deck.  The entrance is off of South Broadway Street, just north of the National Inventors Hall of Fame® STEM School.

Additional Parking is available in the Quaker Square Parking Lot.  The entrance is off of East Bowery Street, behind the Quaker Square Building.  Additional parking can be found across Mill Street from Quaker Square, accessed via south Summit Street.

Judges
Judges may leave immediately following the judging of projects portion of the event, but we welcome you to stay for lunch!

  • Arrive at 8:30 a.m.
  • Judges Meeting at 9:00 a.m.
  • Judging Begins at 9:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.

Volunteers
More detailed information will be emailed to all volunteers.
