Synergy Seminars create an interactive space where problem owners and solution owners come together to discuss and work on innovative, patient-centered medical opportunities. With founding member, the ABIA jointly hosts monthly gatherings where clear clinical problems are identified and open discussion leads to the development of possible solutions.
To date, more than 700 clinicians, scientists, students and other allied health professionals have attended Synergy Seminars. Collaborations from Synergy Seminars have already occurred, leading to research on innovative ideas such as new use of polymers to help treat patients with Cystic Fibrosis and to improve orthopaedic implants. Other projects involve the use of novel polymers to reduce the risk of infection during and after spinal surgery, and another related to the therapeutic applications of nanodendrimers.
Companies or other organizations engage ABIA researchers and clinicians in private discussions on proprietary technologies or products to obtain professional and scientific guidance on commercial and clinical use.
